I have some land adjacent to El Morro National Monument in Western New Mexico, surrounded
by the Zuni and Navajo reservations. This is a place of magical beauty; sienna and ochre mesas, sandstone spires carved by the elements. We are fortunate to have water here in the high desert; mountain lion and great blue heron are some of the visitors that have come to drink from our pond. The ravens who roost in the rocks swoop down cawing their greetings. I try to infuse my paintings with some of the mystery and sacredness I feel from my observations and encounters. |
